The process takes place in a furnace that incorporates an outer temperature control loop, an inner temperature control loop, and combined mass flow injection and ambient environment controls.  The aluminum heat treatment furnace is the most common solution for aluminum alloys. During the furnace process, metal components of the alloy are heated until their constituents dissolve into a solid solution in the metal base material.
